SHARIA LAWS & ISLAMIC PUNISHMENTS

Sharia Law debate festers. . . www.piperpost.net - 18.3.08

The Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, shocked many of his own flock recently when he made the suggestion that Britain should adopt some aspects of Islamic Sharia law.

Criticism of the Archbishop flowed in from far and wide. Editor of the Catholic Herald, Damien Thompson, described Dr Williams' suggestion as 'the most monumentally stupid I have ever heard the Archbishop of Canterbury say.'

Ruth Gledhill, religious correspondent of The Times, wrote: 'Has the Archbishop gone bonkers? [He] wants women, children, all of us, to have to kow-tow to some of the strictest, harshest and most draconian laws dreamed up by any religious system, ever, anywhere in the world.'

The storm has never died down since then. More recently a secret plan to train police in Sharia law and the Muslim faith has come to light and been roundly condemned by many.

Not surprisingly the Archbishop has been supported by one group - the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt. The International Union for Muslim Scholars, led by Yousef al-Qaradaw, warmly supports the prelate's views.

Conservative Party leader David Cameron has demanded Prime Minister Gordon Brown ban Qaradawi from visiting Britain, calling the cleric one of the “preachers of hate who should not be allowed into the country.”

In 2004 Qaradawi visited the UK at the invitation of London mayor Ken Livingstone sparking protests from rights activists over his comments about Jews and homosexuals. The cleric has also defended suicide attacks against Israelis telling the BBC 'It's not suicide, it is martyrdom in the name of God.'

Counterterrorism expert Douglas Farah noted it was not surprising the Muslim Brotherhood would embrace Dr Williams’ comments, as its publicly stated goal of a Muslim conquest of Europe 'hinges on creating Muslim enclaves that are exempt from national laws and under Sharia law-then steadily expanding those areas.'

'This opening is exactly what the Muslim Brotherhood has been seeking for some time,' Farah wrote.

COMMENT: Never mind their academic qualifications, the clergy are often naive when it comes to dealing with dedicated people like the Islamics who want to conquer us through a process of osmosis.

Honour killing persists in west . . . www.piperpost.net - 24.3.08

An alarming number of so-called honour killings are occurring among Muslims living in Western nations. One of the most recent occurred in the USA. It was a tragedy in every way with two beautiful teenage girls allegedly murdered by their own father.

Sarah (17) and Amina (18) Said had the misfortune of being the daughters of an Egyptian Muslim, Yaser Abdel Said, but were living in the freedom-loving society of the USA. Neither girl wanted to wear the traditional oppressive hijab and both had American boyfriends.

It is alleged Yaser beat and sexually abused his daughters over the years. And Amina was facing an arranged marriage.

Whatever had gone before, their lives came to a miserable end in January 2008 when Amina and Sarah were lured into their father's taxi and taken for a one-way ride. They were shot by their father and left to die in his abandoned taxi.
Yaser Said is a fugitive and still on the run.

Islamic warriors execute two women. . . www.piperpost.net - 19.7.08

The world has just witnessed a graphic demonstration of what awaits the people of Afghanistan if the NATO forces fail to subdue the Taliban.  Two women were publicly executed by firing squad because they had allegedly engaged in prostitution.

An Afghan journalist, Rahmatullah Naikzad, stirred up controversy when he took still pictures and videos of the women.  He was not allowed to film the actual execution but took before-and-after photos and recorded the screams of the women as they died. Naikzad has been accused of having tied to the Islamic terrorists but has been cleared of any involvement by the Afghan government.

Large areas of Afghanistan are still controlled by Islamic militants who subject the populace to harsh laws, oppress women as of old and employ cruel punishments in the case of whose who transgress.

Honour killings continue. . . www.piperpost.net - 26.7.08

The scourge of so-called 'honour killings' has spread in recent times from primitive areas of the world to Western nations. Inspired by distorted views of 'morallity' linked to religious belief, people often murder their own family members.

One of the worst cases in recent history occurred in the USA where the hunt continues for
Yaser Abdel Said, alleged to have murdered his own teenage daughters in an 'honour killing' in January 2008.

A FOX news reporter, Greg Jarrett, recently had a run-in with the fugitive's brother. Jarrett says he believes the brother knows where accused man is hiding.

Young girls are not the only ones murdered. More recently in Turkey Ahmet Yildiz, 26, a gay man, was shot dead as he left a cafe. It is believed the action was an 'honour killing'. Yildiz was a high-profile activist in a country where many still regard homosexuality with horror. Although the Turkish government decriminalized homosexuality in the 19th century gays have still suffered in many ways over the years.

The dead man's relatives had urged him to see a doctor to be 'cured,' according to the Independent newspaper, Yildiz reported to a prosecutor that he was receiving death threats five months before the fatal attack, but the case was not pursued. When he died, relatives refused to claim the body, friends told the
Independent.

Victims of honour killings

A reminder of the horror and misery inflicted by misguided morality. A photo of the late Amina and Sarah Said from their MySpace entry.  What sort of mind distortion could prompt the cold-blooded killing of these two beautiful girls?

Iran orders halt to execution by stoning. . . www.piperpost.net - 09.08.08

Iran's judiciary has announced a halt to execution by stoning - one of the modes of punishment employed by the hardline Islamic state. Iran is reluctant to admit publicly to such executions but it is believed a number have occurred in recent times. Such a punishment has been applied in cases of adultery, incest and prostitution.

It is reported that a number of people facing death by stoning have had their sentences commuted. They now face instead either long prison terms or flogging.

The details of execution by stoning are medieval in nature: burying the woman in a hole in the ground up to her breasts where she helplessly awaits her slow death. The Iranian criminal code specifies the size of stones used - designed so as not to be 'large enough to kill the woman by one or two strokes' - in other words, designed to make her death as drawn-out and painful an affair as possible.

Pressure from the EU and from human rights organizations is acknowledged as affecting Iran's actions.  But the country is well-known for its capital and corporal punishment regime, which it has not abandoned.

Over the years even young girls have been hanged for so-called 'moral crimes'. In 2004 a notorious case saw a teenage girl, 'Leila' facing public hanging.  Leila had been sold by her own parents into a life of prostitution at the age of 8 years. From then on she was forced to service clients and eventually became pregnant, bearing twins at the age of 14. For giving birth to 'illegitimate children' Leila was punished with 100 lashes. And although Leila was known to be mentally challenged the judicial system ground on.

Earlier another young girl, 16-year-old Atefeh Rajabi was convicted or moral crimes and sentenced to death. She was dragged screaming and crying to a waiting crane from which she was to be hung. The judge who presided over the trial put the rope around the girl's neck himself. The body was left hanging for some hours as a warning to others.

Footnote: In 2006 two young Iranian women living in exile in Paris, Ladan and Roya Boroumand, whose father was assassinated by an Iranian death squad, released a database they had compiled - of 9,400 confirmed cases of victims murdered and executed by the Islamic regime.

PAKISTANI TEENAGER KILLED BY PARENTS.  In yet another 'honour killing' Saira Nusrat Bibi, a 17-year-old, was murdered allegedly on the orders of her parents because she wished to have her marriage annulled - a marriage forced upon her at the tender age of 9 years. According to The Weekend Australian she was surrounded by a group of men sent by her parents as she left the court hearing her case and was shot in front of police. Earlier in Baluchistan Province two women and three teenage girls were buried alive because they refused to marry the men forced upon them. www.piperpost.net - 14.09.08

Iranian women's rights activists sent to prison by islamic courts. www.piperpost.net - 07.09.08

Courts in Iran have been active lately in punishing women's rights activists. Four women - Mariam Hossein-khah, Nahid Keshavarz, Jelveh Javaheri and Parvin Ardalan - were each sent to prison for 6 months. Their offence: contributing to 'banned' women's websites.

Another woman, Zeinab Bayzeydi, received a stiffer sentence - four years - for being involved in women's rights campaigns.

All five women were involved in an international campaign called One Million Signatures, designed to petition the Islamic Republic demanding rights for women.  But although these women have been jailed they scored one victory - Parliament shelved legislation that was being considered which would have reduced the rights of women in marriage.

Afghan journalist jailed for 'blasphemy' . . . www.piperpost.net - 02.11.08.

Once again the fictitious crime of 'blasphemy' raises its false head - this time in Afghanistan, where a young journalist has been sentenced to 20 years' jail for the alleged offence.

Sayed Perwiz Kambakhsh, 23, a journalism student and reporter, was accused of blaspheming against the Prophet Muhammad by publishing an article on or from the Internet advocating rights for women. Originally the reporter faced a death sentence when the court staged an apology for a trial in which he was not allowed to ffer any defence. The trial took five minutes! Later an appeals court commuted the death sentence to a sentence of 20 years in prison.

The organization Reporters Without Borders commented: 'Afghan justice has again failed to protect Afghan law and guarantee free expression.' Outrage at the sentence has been expressed in many parts of the world.

COMMENT: 'Blasphemy' is one of the chief weapons in the armory of the priesthood, designed to stifle free inquiry. And made all the more absurd by the fact that in various parts of the world different sets of blasphemy laws exist, each asserting that one particular deity is the object in question - yet these deities are rivals!  For example, in the United Arab Emirates in August 1994 six Indians were put on trial, charged with blasphemy after they staged a play in which ants ate the bodies of the Prophet Muhammad and Jesus of Nazareth. Four other men were jailed two years previously in connection with the same play. But the whole notion of 'blasphemy' turns on the proposition that there is something or someone, i.e. a deity, to be insulted. As no such beings exist blasphemy is a fictitious crime.

11-year-old girl set on fire for wearing lipstick . . . www.piperpost.net - 21.12.08.

An Indian Muslim in Jaipur, northern India, has been arrested by police after he poured kerosene over his niece's body, setting it alight, and leaving the 11-year-old girl near death.

The girl's great uncle took this action because his young relative, Nazmeen, was, he claimed 'inappropriately dressed' and was wearing lipstick. Last report from the hospital was that she had little chance of survival, with 90 percent of her body burnt.

It was later claimed by relatives that the uncle had molested the girl.

Insurance giant accused of promoting Shariah law . . . www.piperpost.net - 28.12.08.

An unexpected consequence of the US government's bail-out of insurance giant AIG is the discovery that the company helps promote Sharia law, effectively acknowledging Islam's  belief in the conversion, subjugation and destruction of the 'Christian' West.

A lawsuit filed on behalf of a former marine infantryman, Kevin J. Murray, supported by the Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm, seeks to stop all bail-out funds going the AIG.

'Use of taxpayer funds to acquire ownership of a business that intentionally promotes, endorses, supports, and funds Shariah-based Islamic religious practices violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,' claims the suit.

The basis of the lawsuit is that AIG intentionally promotes Shariah-compliant businesses and insurance products, which by necessity must comply with the 1200 year old body of Islamic cannon law based on the Quran. AIG employs a three-person Shariah Advisory Board, with members from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Pakistan. According to AIG, the role of its Shariah authority 'is to review [its] operations, supervise its development of Islamic products, and determine Shariah compliance of these products and [its] investments.'

Of particular concern is the presence of the Pakistani Board member, Dr Muhammed Imran Ashraf Usmani. Dr Usmani is the son and devoted disciple of Sheik Mufti Taqi Usmani, the leading authority on Shariah financing who, in 1999, authored a book dedicating an entire chapter on why a Western Muslim must engage in violent jihad against his own country - even if Muslims are given equality and freedom to practice their religion and to proselytize.

Wife beating o.k. says Islamic cleric. www.piperpost.net - 25.01.09.

A storm of protest has greeted the words of an Australian Islamic cleric, Samir Abu Hamza, who advised faithful males to beat their wives and to force them to have sex if necessary.

The cleric told his followers that under Islamic law men could demand sex from their wives. However, under Australian law sex without consent, even involving wives, is a criminal act. It is called rape.

The comments have aroused the ire of Australia's Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, who commented: 'Under no circumstances is sexual violence permissible or acceptable in Australia. Australia will not tolerate these sort of remarks. They don't belong in modern Australia, and he should stand up, repudiate them and apologize.'

It is now being claimed that the remarks were 'taken out of context' and that the reference to hitting was 'in a metaphorical' sense. Mr Hamza has since gone to ground and cannot be contacted.

EDITORIAL
Islamic warriors destroy girls' schools www.piperpost.net - 08.02.09.

It seems the brave warriors of the Taliban have turned from murdering adults to destroying girls' schools. So intent are these followers of Muhammad on maintaining male domination over women that they will do anything they can to keep women 'barefoot and pregnant' under those gloomy rags they force them to wear.

Like many of their kind, these neanderthals fear women gaining an education. The women who do so might begin questioning the status quo in the thirteenth century society the Taliban promotes. Many women are doing so already.

In both Afghanistan and in Pakistan Taliban terrorists have destroyed a large number of schools, mostly girls' school but some boys' schools also. In Afghanistan an estimated 300 teachers and pupils have died as a result of Taliban attacks on schools while in the Swat area of Pakistan the Taliban issued an order that all girls were banned from schooling after 15 January. Up to 200 schools have been blown up or otherwise destroyed. There is no word of the Pakistan government acting to counter this move.

What a contrast - around the world millions of people working hard, creating, developing, building and making the world a better place - and educating children. And in these backwaters people like the Taliban and their fellow-Islamic criminals can do is tear down, destroy, murder and maim. Who would want to be a member of such a pathetic religion of negativity?

American woman allegedly beheaded by Islamic husband . . . www.piperpost.net - 22.02.09.

Police have arrested Muzzammil Hassan, the 44-year-old head of Bridges TV, which had been promoted as 'the first-ever full-time home for American Muslims.'  Hassan is suspected of having murdered his 32-year-old wife Aasiya by beheading.

Recently Aasiya Hassan had filed for divorce following years of alleged abuse at the hands of her husband. She had obtained an order of protection that barred her husband from their home, according to attorney Elizabeth DiPirro, whose law firm, Hogan Willig, represented Aasiya Hassan in the divorce proceeding.

Hassan allegedly beheaded Aasiya at the office of Bridges TV, their television station in Orchard Park, near Buffalo.  Police have given few details, only saying that Hassan surrendered to Orchard Park police, simply saying his wife was dead.

The Islamic Society of North America issued a statement of condolence and urged Muslim leaders to take a strong stand against domestic violence. 'Women who seek divorce from their spouses because of physical abuse should get full support from the community and should not be viewed as someone who has brought shame to herself or her family,' the statement by Imam Mohamed Hagmagid Ali said.

Pakistan allows Sharia law. . . www.piperpost.net - 22.02.09.

The Government of Pakistan has allowed a large area of the country in the north-west to be subjected to Sharia law. This has been done to placate the fundamentalist Islamics, most notably the Taliban.

The Government says a deal has been signed, following talks between the Government and a local Islamic leader, Sufi Muhammad. This is the same man who is known to have led hundreds of men fighting against US forces in Afghanistan.

'This is definitely a surrender,' said Khadim Hussain of the Aryana Institute for Regional Research and Advocacy in Islamabad. 'If you keep treating a community as something different from the rest of the country, it will isolate them.'

Recently in the same area Taliban mobs have been burning down schools, especially girls' schools.
Up to 200 schools have been blown up or otherwise destroyed.

[COMMENT: Clearly the Taliban and their Pakistani allies are working hard to return the country to the 13th century.]
